The Foldy is the folding mobility scooter that comes with you: 29.5 kg, into the car boot, the caravan or the train — and with 17 miles on a charge, not a toy. For the supermarket, the museum and the holiday.

Who it suits (and who it doesn't)

A good fit if you want to take the machine in the car or on holiday, turn it inside a flat or a lift, and cover short distances on level ground. At 29.5 kg it is the only model here one person can lift into a boot.

Look at another model if you travel far every day, tackle steep hills or go out of town: 350 W, 8° and 17 miles are the limits. Then the Fast One T.0 or the On Four are the right machines. Above 140 kg rider weight the Foldy is not suitable.

Riding this in the UK

We supply the Foldy here limited to 8 mph, which makes it a Class 3 invalid carriage — the road-going class of mobility scooter. You register it with DVLA (no vehicle tax is payable), the rider must be 14 or over, and on a footway you drop to 4 mph with the limiter and speed indicator working. Motorways are never allowed. It is comfortably inside the Class 3 build limits: one seat, 29.5 kg against a 150 kg ceiling, 60 cm against 0.85 m. A quicker setting exists, but in Britain that is for private land only. See our rules page.

Options

Supplied as standard with the charger, a set of keys, the luggage rack and LED lighting. The Foldy has few extras: For Motion's Dutch configurator names only a faster speed setting, which in Britain is for private land only, and an extra lithium battery. Neither appears in the configurator on this page; if you want the extra battery, say so when you request a quote and we will tell you in writing what it adds.

Price, delivery and your rights

Your written quote states the full price delivered to your address. VAT relief needs a chronically sick or disabled customer, a qualifying product and a signed eligibility declaration — Class 3 does not qualify automatically. You have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, plus your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Request a quote.

What makes a mobility vehicle feel right?

Comfort is personal. Compare the seat and riding position, ease of getting on and off, controls, suspension and room for the things you take with you. Styling matters too: choose a vehicle you are pleased to use, rather than deciding on speed alone.

Four wheels, compact models and enclosed vehicles

Ask about the differences between the For Motion On Four, Forty-5 and enclosed models. These are starting points for a conversation, not a claim that every configuration is suitable for your route or for use on Spanish roads. Availability and vehicle documentation must be checked for the model you choose.

A shortlist built around you

Tell us about your home, storage, preferred seating and usual journeys. Include the narrowest doorway and any lift dimensions. We can then discuss which models deserve a closer look and prepare a quotation for a specific configuration.

Clarity before a commitment

Your quotation should make the total cost and delivery arrangements clear. A premium purchase should also give you a clear point of contact: your sales enquiry and purchase stay with For Motion.
